A dependable local presence for families who cannot always be nearby.

When an aging parent lives alone—or when family members cannot always be nearby—the worry often lives in the unanswered questions.

Did Mom make it to her appointment?

Did Dad understand what the doctor said?

Is the house still safe?

Is someone checking in because they genuinely care, not merely completing a task?

Peace of Mind Care Visits was created to help close that gap for families in Bradenton and surrounding Southwest Florida communities.

Founded by Bradenton resident Alison Stohler, Peace of Mind Care Visits provides private-pay, non-medical wellness visits, healthcare navigation, patient advocacy and life coordination. The service is designed for older adults and other individuals who could benefit from a dependable local connection—and for families who want to remain informed when they cannot always be there themselves.

Inspired by Someone Alison Loved

The heart behind the business begins with Alison’s grandmother, Lucy.

When Granny Lucy needed more consistent support, Alison experienced the same challenge many families face: wanting to be there while also managing work, family and everyday responsibilities.

What Alison needed was simple but difficult to find—a dependable person who could check in, spend meaningful time with her grandmother and help keep the family informed.

That experience became the foundation for Peace of Mind Care Visits.

Alison brings more than 25 years of healthcare experience to the business, but the service itself is intentionally non-medical. Her focus is consistent presence, thoughtful observation, organization, communication and genuine human connection.

As a mother of two boys, Alison says the values behind the business are also the values she wants to pass on to her children: kindness, reliability and sincere care for others.

More Than an Occasional Phone Call

A telephone call can tell you part of the story, but it may not reveal everything.

An older parent may say, “I’m fine,” while overlooking an appointment, becoming increasingly isolated or struggling to keep everyday details organized. Someone experiencing early memory changes may still be capable of living independently but benefit from more consistent support.

The goal is not to replace family or take away someone’s independence. It is to provide an additional layer of support.

Peace of Mind Care Visits offers another set of caring eyes and ears nearby. The goal is not to replace family or take away someone’s independence. It is to provide an additional layer of support that helps clients feel connected and families feel better informed.

This can be especially valuable when the person needing help lives in Southwest Florida but their adult children live in another city or state. Whether the family lives nearby or across the country, Alison works locally with the person receiving support.

How Peace of Mind Care Visits Supports Bradenton Families

01

Senior Wellness Visits

Wellness visits provide friendly companionship, meaningful conversation and general observations of the person’s well-being and home environment.

Visits may include light daily reminders, home-environment checks and updates for family members. These visits can help families maintain a more consistent connection while giving the client something equally important: regular interaction with someone who takes the time to know them.

02

Healthcare Navigation

Healthcare can become difficult to coordinate even before someone needs hands-on care.

Alison can help organize healthcare information, coordinate appointments and follow-up care, connect families with community resources and help everyone keep track of the next steps.

Families can also explore more trusted local retirement resources in Bradenton and Manatee County .

This support can be particularly useful when several providers, appointments or family members are involved.

03

Patient Advocacy

Medical appointments can move quickly. It is easy to leave the office and realize you forgot to ask an important question—or cannot remember exactly what was said.

Alison can attend appointments with a client or loved one, help prepare questions, take detailed notes and assist with understanding the provider’s instructions and recommended next steps.

She does not make medical decisions or provide clinical advice. Her role is to help the client feel heard, organized and better prepared to make their own informed decisions.

04

Life Coordination

Sometimes the greatest challenge is not one major problem. It is the growing collection of small details that must be handled.

Life coordination may include appointment scheduling, arranging transportation and services, communicating with providers or organizations, organizing important information and researching useful local resources.

It is practical support designed to help life run a little more smoothly.

Why I Wanted to Share Alison’s Work

Alison and I first connected through our involvement in the local business community. We quickly discovered more in common than business—including our Kansas roots and a shared desire to help older adults and their families feel supported rather than passed around.

Her mission also touched me personally.

My father had dementia, and there were times when I could not be there. I understand the worry that comes with wanting someone dependable nearby—not to replace the family, but to notice, communicate and care.

That is why I wanted RobinsWisdom readers to know that Peace of Mind Care Visits exists.

Our services are different, but the heart behind them is similar: listen first, understand what the person needs and help families find their next step without making them feel like a number.
